If your gutters overflow during heavy storms, it's natural to wonder whether bigger gutters are the answer. Sometimes they are. Sometimes the real problem is downspout placement, clogs or pitch.
The basic difference
A 6-inch gutter holds and moves considerably more water than a 5-inch gutter, and it's typically paired with larger downspouts that clog less often. A 5-inch gutter remains a solid choice for many homes.
What decides the right size
The amount of roof draining into each run, the roof's pitch, valleys that concentrate water, the number of downspouts and the overall look of the home all play a part. A steep, large roof section feeding one corner is a very different situation from a small, low-pitch porch roof.
Our approach
We don't assume every home needs 6-inch gutters. We look at the roof and how water moves today, then recommend a size and downspout layout that fits. Call or text 936-701-1041 for a free estimate.
